NAWABSHAH: Nawabshah bus stands will be shifted

By Our Correspondent

NAWABSHAH, May 28: At last peoples’ cries eventually reached administration’s ears, as it was decided, in principle, that public transport stands will be shifted outside the city within a week.

A meeting in this regard and on other traffic problems was held under the chairmanship of DCO Khurshid Naeem Malik here on Wednesday.

He said that the proposed new terminal was not 5-10 kilometers away from the city but just on its outskirts which would definitely benefit people. He said that the district government would provide all facilities to transporters at the new terminal.

Sufi Saleem, Punhal Khan, Ghulam Nabi and other transporters expressed their reservations on the sifting of bus stands saying that the general public would face difficulties in case the offices were shifted outside as they would have to pay extra amount to reach the news stands.

The DCO constituted a committee of transporters, traffic department, municipal officer headed by EDO of Revenue, Rasheed Zardari, for finalising the spot for the new stands and gave it one weeks’ time for decision.
