Summer time notification issued

Published May 28, 2008

ISLAMABAD, May 27: Clocks will be advanced by one hour in the country from June 1 to save daylight and conserve energy, says a notification issued by the interior ministry.

It said the step would be taken in pursuance of the federal cabinet’s decision taken on May 14.

The daylight saving policy was also adopted in the past but later stopped.

Many developing and developed countries, like the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, India, New Zealand, Denmark, Russia, Sweden, Argentina and Brazil, follow the daylight saving time policy.
