KARACHI, May 27: Eight ships including three cement loaders to load 51,000 tons of cement and clinkers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Yaa Ilhan to unload coal, Arnis, Loa, As Mars and Cap Negro to unload and load containers, Al-Fulig-7 to unload and load general cargo, Nipayia and A. Dragon, both tankers, were berthed.

Sailings were slow as only four vessels, Arnis, Arabian Wind, Star Canopus and Royal Imperial departed on Tuesday, while Ken Blossom, Mariana-3, Loa, A. Dragon, Nipayia, Hoegh Pusan, Cap Negro, Khairpur and Langford are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side as a total tonnage of 108,000 tons comprising 27,953 tons of export tonnage and 79,554 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Lucky Arrow, Atlantic Dream to load 10,000 and 15,000 tons of cement, Surfing Jad to load 26,500 tons of clinkers, Magway with 4,677 logs, Far Singapore, Ital Glamour, Hyundai Duke and APL Cairo with containers.
