PFF delegation to attend FIFA moot in Australia
LAHORE, May 26: A three-member delegation of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) left the city on Monday for Sydney, Australia, to attend the 58th FIFA Congress, which will be held on Thursday.
The delegation was led by PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat and the other two members were PFF senior vice president Zahir Ali Shah and Congress member Nayyar Hasnain Haider.
Around 208 members will attend the Congress to be presided over by FIFA chief Sepp Blatter.
The Congress will discuss latest developments in the game, change of rules, administrative, financial, and technical reports of 2007, accept the memberships of new federations and decide host countries for future World Cups.
“The FIFA Congress, which is international football’s parliament, is the largest off-field football event and is an ideal opportunity for Australia to bid for the 2018 World Cup,” Faisal commented.—Agencies
