Tapal CC win title

KARACHI, May 25: Tapal Cricket Club clinched the S.M. Baloch memorial cricket tournament when they beat Baqai Dolphins by three wickets in the final at PCB Academy Ground here the other day.

Batting first, Baqai Dolphins were dismissed for 173 in 39.1 overs with opener Nawab Alam making 54 that included five fours and two sixes. Qamar Ibrahim (48) and Zeeshan Anwar (30) were other prominent scorers.

Iqbal Shaikh (3-19) and Kamran Umer (3-58) were the main wicket-takers.

Tapal CC, in reply, reached the target in the 36th over for the loss of seven wickets with Mansoor Baig (41), Iqbal Shaikh (32), Hanif-ur-Rehman (25) contributing to their victory.

Off-spinner Yousuf Ahmed finished with five for 23 in 16.3 overs.—APP
