SHEIKHUPURA, May 25: Up to 25 villagers in Faizpur allegedly held Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) officials hostage on Sunday.

LESCO officials Khadim Husain, Ilyas, Sarwar and Arshad raided Faizpur on Sharaqpur-Jaranawala Road on a complaint that Akbar Ali, Allah Ditta and Safdar were allegedly involved in power thefts.

The team after removing power meters was returning to office in an official jeep when 25 people, led by Allah Ditta, attacked them with batons, iron rods and daggers and held them hostage. The Factory Area police rescued the officials.
