Struggle for free judiciary to continue: Shahbaz

LAHORE, May 24: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday his party would continue its struggle for the independence of judiciary and reinstatement of deposed judges.

Talking to party workers in Model Town, Shahbaz Sharif said PML-N patron Nawaz Sharif was committed to getting the judges reinstated and solving the problems of flour shortage, loadshedding and unemployment.

The PML-N chief said his party wanted to reform the governance system to ensure the state does not victimise political workers struggling for democratic rights. He said government officials would have to stop obeying unconstitutional and unlawful orders of rulers, adding those harassing political workers’ families would be taken to the task.

Sharif said the workers who remained steadfast despite being victimised by the Musharraf regime were an asset of the party. He said the people rejected the henchmen of a dictator on Feb 18.
