KARACHI, May 24: Three ships carrying containers, palm oil and furnace oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Maersk Novazzano, Ahmad Junior, Wales-II, Gemini, Clipper Trinidad, Chemstar Venus, Vema Ocean and Nord Vision, were busy in loading/offloading containers, cement, palm oil, chemicals, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 87,948 tons comprising 72,564 tons of import and 15,384 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Ahmad Junior and Clipper Trinidad sailed out while Maersk Novazzano and Chemstar Venus were expected to depart.
