Govt urged to check LPG prices

KARACHI, May 24: The LPG Distributors Association Pakistan has urged the government to evolve a mechanism to control rising liquid petroleum gas prices.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, association’s chairman Abdul Hadi Khan said that supply from Mahmood Kot Refinery had been suspended two weeks back due to a strike by transporters while some producers had ended rebate by Rs4,500 which resulted in less supply of LPG to the market by 2,000 tons.

He said that 11.8-kg cylinder price soared to Rs40 in Karachi, Rs90 in Lahore and by Rs110 in the NWFP and Northern Areas from April 1.—PPI
