RAWALPINDI, May 22: A bailiff appointed by district and sessions judge (DSJ) on Thursday recovered a man from illegal custody of the Waris Khan Police and handed him over to his brother, who had lodged a complaint with the judge against the custody.

The judge directed both the SHO and the complainant to appear in the court on May 27 for further proceedings.

Bailiff Malik Lal Khan raided the Waris Khan police station and found Abdul Salam sitting on a charpoy in the police station with two police officials and found no record of any FIR against him in the daily diary.

The bailiff was only shown a complaint against Salam that he had not been returning some money he borrowed from a man. The bailiff found no stamp of the SHO on the complaint and that was not even recorded by the police.

The bailiff further learnt that an FIR was earlier registered against Salam who had obtained bail from Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench in the case.

The bailiff handed over the recovered man to his brother Muhammad Siddique.
