KARACHI: Steps ordered for control of hepatitis

KARACHI, May 22: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has called for better health facilities to the poor and needy people at all government hospitals, dispensaries and health units.

Speaking at a briefing on health department here on Thursday, Mr Shah referred to complaints of dual administration in the department and lack of coordination between provincial and district administration officers, and said as a result of this people were not getting proper health facilities.

Expressing his concern over the rising cases of hepatitis, he said that a separate organisation of experts be set up to check the disease. Earlier, Health Secretary Shafique Ahmed Khoso gave a detailed briefing about health care facilities across the province. —APP
