KARACHI, May 22: Six ships carrying containers, general cargo and coal are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships, Al-Aqueela-1 to load cement, Falcon, Smarty to offload coal, Kapitan Byankin and KAPL Pusan to unload and load containers, Ken Blossom to offload rock phosphate, Tiheroula and Sea Giant, both tankers, were berthed.
Sailings were also active as half a dozen ships including APL Cairo, Valbella, Noor-i-Madina, Patton-1, Akili and Wilson departed on Thursday, while APL Pusan, Tiheroula, Markella, Sea Giant and Gulf Bridge are due to sail out on Friday.
A total tonnage of 0.113m tons comprising 45,795 tons of export cargo including 7,625 tons of cement and 1,900 tons of clinker and 65,961 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.
The following ships are due on Friday: Y.M. Improvement, Eric G. Gibson with containers, Jorita with coal, Admiral Coral with general cargo, Lena and Butterfly with project cargo.
