LONDON, May 21: Sindh Vision, UK, an organisation comprising Sindhi professionals including representatives of Sindhi Sangat UK, World Sindhi Congress and Sindh Doctors Association and other individuals has been launched here “to strive for Sindh’s social development and political and human rights of people living in Sindh”.

At a recent meeting, the participants brainstormed the issues and problems facing Sindh and looked at the possible role of a representative organisation of overseas Sindhis to act as an effective watchdog and source of initiating socio-economic progress and political reforms in Sindh.

The meeting concluded that the needs for social development in Sindh were critical and the participants highlighted the issues of continued bad governance and what they called the usurpation of resources by political elite which they said had resulted in enormous suffering of common people.

Dr. Safiullah Afghan was unanimously elected as the interim convener for the new organisation until formal election of a chairman by the executive committee. The Sindh Vision, UK, will form its executive committee comprising 12-15 members including two nominees from each participating organisation and representatives of wider Sindhi community.
