PESHAWAR, May 21: Renowned researcher, writer and poet Professor Khatir Ghaznavi has donated his private library, containing thousands of books, to University of Peshawar (UoP).

A press release issued here on Wednesday said that Prof Ghaznavi donated his collection of literary, academic and research books to UoP Vice-chancellor Dr Azmat Hayat Khan, who visited the ailing poet to enquire after his health.

Prof Ghaznavi while donating his library to the varsity said that he had been student at the university and he felt satisfaction by contributing something to UoP. He also shared some of his experiences with the visiting academicians and recalled the days of his studentship in University of Peshawar.

Dr Hayat thanked him for his generous donation and assured him that an out of the ordinary place will be specified at the Oriental Corner of the Central Library where all the books would be shelved for use of the researchers.

The vice-chancellor while presenting a bouquet to the sick poet also prayed for his good health and early recovery.
