KARACHI: 10 immolation suspects remanded to lock-up

KARACHI, May 19: The civil judge and judicial magistrate-V, South, on Monday remanded 10 suspects in police custody till May 23 for their alleged involvement in the immolation of three bandits in the limits of the Eidgah police station on May 14.
According to the prosecution, the suspected bandits were beaten up and then set on fire by a mob on Nishtar Road.
An FIR (No.74/08) was registered under Sections 316 of the Pakistan Penal Code and booked about 17 residents of the locality on suspicion of their involvement in the incident. However, seven of the suspects were released. Those who were produced in court for remand on Monday were Asif, Rafiq, Imran, Kashif, Mahboob, Anwar, Taj Mohamm-ad, Farhan, Yar Mohammad and Hanif.
Meanwhile, a special judge of the Federal Anti-corruption and Emigration, Central, Shaukat Ali Memon, on Monday ordered a man to pay a fine of Rs5, 000 for getting an employment in Dubai while being there on a visit visa.
The FIA had arrested the man, Altaf, upon his arrival at Karachi airport.
The same court granted bail in a sum of Rs200,000 each to 160 Pakistanis deported from Muscat.
Around 250 Pakistani were deported from Muscat recently for overstaying there.
