LAHORE, May 18: Faisalabad outplayed Gujranwala by 18-7 runs to bag the final of the 1st National inter-district under-15 baseball championship here on Sunday.

The final which lasted five innings proved the winners too good against their opponent.

Zeeshan, Faisal Habib, Naseer Ahmed and Mahmood Hussain played a major role for Faisalabad, contributing three runs each with Nauman Ali and Nawaz adding two runs apiece and Zaheer and Afzal chipping in one run each.

For Gujranwala, who failed to display their previous matches’ performance, Atif Ahmed and Shoaib Ahmed scored two runs each with Rauf, Mudassar and Afzal contributing one each but only to reduce the margin.

Faisalabad, at the end of the second innings, had gained a convincing lead of 9-2, and they were in quite a good position at the end of the fourth innings too with a 15-5 lead to conclude the game in the fifth innings.
