KARACHI, May 18: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken serious notice of police inaction over the complaint by a provincial minister.
With a clear directive to the law enforcement agencies, particularly the city police, for taking prompt action on the complaints of citizens, the chief minister said it be ensured that police must pay due attention not only on the complaints of elected representatives but also those filed by an ordinary citizen.
Mr Shah took notice of the Gizri police attitude over a complaint lodged by a provincial minister, Shazia Marri, and directed the city police chief to initiate immediate action against the police personnel concerned for showing negligence.
He also took notice of the press reports about a protest staged by the candidates, who were called for interviews for recruitment by the education department from Dadu only to be informed that there were no vacancies.
Seeking explanation from the education minister and secretary, he asked them why candidates were called for interviews when there was no vacancy available in the department.
