KARACHI: Moot on Hasrat Mohani
KARACHI, May 18: A conference was organised by the Pakistan Study Centre of the University of Karachi in connection with the 57th death anniversary of Maulana Hasrat Mohani.
The day-long conference, held in collaboration with the Hasrat Mohani Memorial Society, was presided over by KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, who called for promoting Mohani’s ideas and literary works as he deserved high tribute and admiration for his valuable services to the society.
He said Mohani’s intellect and contributions were known for several domains, including politics, literature and journalism. His literary work carried propagation of honesty, truthfulness and courage.
Begum Raeesa Mohani, niece of the Maulana, shared with the audience views and her knowledge about the Mohani’s life and personality. She explained his role in the context of the present day challenges faced by the country.
Dr Farman Fatehpuri presented the keynote address.
On the occasion, a book titled “Jehat-i-Hasrat” was also launched.—APP
