Tyre Jee aims to avenge last week loss at KRC
By Anwar Zuberi
KARACHI, May 17: Three-year-old chestnut colt Tyre Jee, who settled for second place last weekend after winning four races on the trot, looks set to avenge his defeat by capturing the feature event when the Gymkhana race meeting takes place at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
Filly Diamond In Dust stormed to five lengths’ victory over Tyre Jee under rider Ghulam Shabbir II in the last outing.
Apart from four wins and a second under his belt this season, Tyre Jee enjoys handicap advantage and in all probability gets the better of Diamond In Dust in the six furlongs last race which has a field of five runners.
Four-year-old dark bay filly Bacaradi is poised to make it two-in-a-row should she land the fifth and supporting race of division I class VII to be run over five furlongs.
She has strong credentials with three wins and a place which has made her the favourite in a field of 10 contestants.
She should be chased by colt John Player and bay Manan Prince.
Five-year-old chestnut King Of Cool should present owner with yet another winner by picking up the fourth race.
His likely challengers are bay Bharosa and filly Baby John.
Either of the two, mare Royal Loyalty and colt Walayat belonging to the same connections should oblige punters in the opener.
Bay Black Rock and dark bay Qandhar should follow the winner for places.
If all goes well six-year-old bay mare Mixed Blessing should repeat her winning act in the second while filly Jadu Jantar should atone for the two loses in the third race.
