HYDERABAD, May 17: Large number of students of the Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam and the Noor Shah College demonstrated outside the Tandojam Press Club on Saturday against the vice chancellor and university officials.

They raised slogans of “remove the retired vice chancellor and his retired team”. Students criticized the arrest of Asadullah Veesar by police on Friday. They said the vice chancellor and his sons had converted the university into a no-go area for students.

They said students had been implicated in false cases. They announced to hold protest demonstrations in all universities of the province.

Meanwhile, university employees also held a protest meeting against the registration of an alleged false case against their leader, Karam Punhoon. They decided to convene a general body meeting of employees on Monday to chalk out future course of action.

According to reports, security had been beefed up at the campus as well as Tandojam town.
