KARACHI, May 17: Four ships scheduled to load/offload containers, palm oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 90 per cent at the wharves where nine ships, Maersk Novazzano, CMA CGM Tulip, Bernice, Golden Glory, Doris, Sea Mild, Qem Star, Vema Ocean and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, palm oil, coal, chemicals, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 107,000 tons comprising 89,000 tons of import and 18,000 tons of export tonnage was handled.

New Delhi Express, Vema Ocean and Golden Glory sailed out while Maersk Novazzano, Qem Star and Sea Mild were expected to depart.
