KARACHI, May 17: Four ships carrying coal, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where seven ships including car carrier Singa Ace were berthed. Others are Fructidor to unload coal, Oel Mumbai, Creek, and Soon Fu to unload and load containers, Johar to offload crude oil and Gemini to unload palm oil.
Sailing was also active as seven ships, Y.M. Moji, Kota Perdana, Rhoneborg, Soon Fu, Sima Pride, Normed Amsterdam and Blida departed on Saturday, while Lucky Arrow, Tai Rong-7, Oel Trust, Gemini, Jin Chuan Men, Ahmad Junior, Johar, Orient Stride, Hansa Liberty, Fructidor and Amwaj Karoon are due to sail out on Saturday and Sunday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 135,000 tons comprising 50,516 tons of export cargo including 9,072 and 3,000 tons cement and clinkers and 84,607 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Al-Aqeela-1 to load cement, Akili with coal, Mitra Bhum and Wan Hai-301 with containers.
The following ships are due on Monday: Rising Om with base oil, China Star, Mol Ability, Markella with containers, Smarty with coal and Patton-1 with general cargo.
