MIRPURKHAS, May 16: The EDO agriculture of Mirpurkhas has not received a laboratory test report of samples of spurious fertiliser seized a few days ago by the authorities hence an FIR could not be lodged against its owner.

Some ten days ago, officials of the agriculture department caught a trailer loaded with 300 bags of spurious DAP fertiliser. The driver and his accomplice were handed over to Jhuddo police.

The agriculture officials sent the fertiliser samples to a laboratory in Hyderabad for its chemical tests. When contacted, the EDO agriculture of Mirpurkhas, Yar Mohammad Khaskheli, said that the officials of the laboratory had earlier informed him that the fertiliser samples were found to be unfit and of substandard.

The EDO said that he was told by the officials of the laboratory that they had had sent the report to his department.

However, the EDO said that he did not receive the report. He said that the laboratory officials claimed that they had dispatched the report through a courier service.

He said that it was a high-level matter and only after receiving the test report his department would be able to lodge an FIR against the owner.

Reports said that the fertiliser stock belong to a lawmaker who had got released the detained trailer along with the fertilisers bags.
