Labourers freed from captivity

MIRPURKHAS, May 15: Jhuddo police got 14 bonded labour peasants, including 11 children and three women, released from the clutches of a landlord in a raid in taluka Jhuddo on Thursday.

Gianchand had complained to the RPO of Hyderabad that many peasants were in illegal captivity of a landlord, Laung Chandio, and were working as bonded labourers.

The RPO directed the officers concerned to pursue the matter and get them released.

ASI Abdul Majeed of Jhuddo police conducted the raid and got freed 14 bonded peasants, including three women and 11 children.

ASI Abdul Majeed told reporters that during the raid 14 bonded labourers were found while other labourers were not present there.
