HYDERABAD, May 15: Lawyers in many cities and towns of the province boycotted courts’ proceedings on Thursday, in response to Pakistan Bar Council’s call for weekly protests to press the government for reinstating the deposed judges.

They held general body meetings, demanding reinstatement of deposed judges and expressing resolve their movement would continue till the restoration of judiciary.

In Hyderabad, lawyers boycotted courts, held a general body meeting and then staged a rally within the civil court’s premises. Lawyer leaders said that people wanted to see deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and his brother judges reinstated.

In Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Kandiaro and Bhirya lawyers stayed away from courts and hoisted black flags on bar rooms to observe black day. They also staged rallies and demonstrations.
