KARACHI, May 15: Eight ships, carrying containers, steel and general cargo, are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where six ships, APL Dalian to unload and load containers, Blida to load clinkers, Amwaj Karron to load cement, Oriental Presia to load Ethanol, Lalazar to unload crude oil and Belug Fanfare to offload project cargo were berthed.

Seven ships, APL Pusan, Lamari Itha Bhum, Sea Globe, Megha Cement, Arabian Wind and MOL Admiration departed on Thursday, while Beluga Fanfare, Bunga Melati Satu, Byun Jin Ks-3, APL Dal, Fu Ning Hai, Lalazar, Oriental Presia, Alfie, Sima Pride, Kota Perdana and Blida are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.112m tons comprising 48,065 tons of export cargo and 64,152 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Sea Giant with oil, Gemini with palm oil, Tenth Ocean, Hyundai Advance and Soon Fu with containers, Jin Chuan Men with general cargo, Tai Rong-7 with steel and Swat, with crude oil.
