Nazim cancels transfer, posting orders issued by EDO

By Iqbal Khawaja

THATTA, May 14: Terming the transfers and postings of dozens of the officers and teachers in the education department within a month by the EDO Education as violation of rules and regulations, District Nazim of Thatta, Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Shirazi, has cancelled all such postings and transfers here on Tuesday.

Through a letter sent to the provincial government, he stated that violating rule 5 of the functions of the district nazim

in the Sindh district government conduct of business rules 2001, the newly- posted EDO Education, Mohammed Bux Janvari, has shattered the smooth business of education department by transferring eight officers of grade-17 and 23 officials of BPS-9.

He contended that the Sindh government had already abolished the post of RP/ LCO but Mr Janvari posted many of his favourites by reviving these posts.

He mentioned that despite a ban on posting on OPS (Own pay scale) the new EDO, an officer of grade-18, was posted on a Grade-19 post to look after the district education department and he has broken all the records of nepotism and favouritism in the district and shattered the image of education system.

Expressing his astonishment, he said that during the ongoing examination, the EDO transferred hundreds of male and female teachers in the district power of which only rested with the district nazim.
