KARACHI, May 14: Over a dozen ships carrying palm oil, containers and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where nine ships, Surfing Jad to load clinkers, Fu Ning Hai to offload coal, Alfie to unload and load general cargo, Bunga Melati Satu, an oil tanker and Sima Pride, APL Pusan, Mol Admiration, Limari and Itha Bhum to unload and load containers were berthed.
Five ships, Kapitan Byankin, Kang Qiang, Jikur-3, Nikolaos-P, and Sao Paulo-2, sailed out on Wednesday, while APL Pusan, Mol Admiration, Limari, Hyun Jin Ks-3, Bunga Melati Satu, Beluga Fanfare and Sima Pride are due to depart on Thursday.
A total tonnage of 93,445 tons comprising 20,707 tons of export tonnage and 72,738 tons of import tonnage was handled on Wednesday.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Meg to load 34,100 tons of molasses, Gemini with 5,800 tons of palm oil, Johar with crude oil, Santa Cruz-1 with oil, Al-Aqeela-1 to load 8,200 tons of cement, Nomed Amsterdam with project cargo, Orient Stride, Y.M. Moji, Creek, Kota Perdana, Rhoneborg, Oel Mumbai, Hyundai Advance and Calvin P. Titus with containers.
