Landmine hits army convoy in Darra

KOHAT/BANNU, May 9: Three security personnel were injured when a landmine exploded near Darra Adamkhel when an army convoy was passing through the Shini Kali bridge on Friday.

Troops fired towards nearby mountains but nobody appeared to be there.The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Kohat and they were said to be out of danger.

On Thursday night, explosives planted by militants blew up a portion of the boundary wall of the Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Kaki area of Bannu city. This was second such explosion in the city in a week.

In Darra town, militants attacked a vehicle of a private security agency near Shini Kali bazaar on Friday.

However, the vehicle which was transporting cash from Kohat to a bank in Darra bazaar, safely reached the bank.

Militants also blew up a bridge in Shiraki area. Local people said the bridge was partially damaged.
