NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 8: A teenaged boy kidnapped from Hussainabad area near Kotdiji was freed in the Doulatpur area Chandio after payment of Rs500,000 in ransom to kidnappers.

Basheer Ahmed Arain, his kidnapped 13-year old son Ahsan Ali and Abdul Salam Arain told journalists in Moro that both father and son were on way on August 26, 2007, when 10 people travelling in a Suzuki carry stopped them in Hussainabad area Kotdiji, district Khairpur and kidnapped Ahsan.

He said the SHO Kotdiji did not lodge the FIR therefore he submitted an application to sessions judge Khairpur. He said the SHO submitted a report before sessions judge against him, therefore his application was dismissed.

The father of kidnapped boy said later he filed a petition in Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench where the SHO Qalib Abbas Shah was directed to submit report.

He alleged the SHO demanded Rs20,000 bribe for a report in his favour but he did not pay him. He said kidnappers were contacting him on phone and demanded Rs900,000 as ransom and threatened to kill the boy if police were informed.

Basheer Arain said on Thursday morning, he along with Abdul Salam of Moro and others went to Aliabad, Katcha area near Doulatpur as advised by the kidnappers. He said three abductors reached the place in a car, took Rs500,000 and released his son.

He appealed to the Sindh Chief Minister, home minister, IG police to order arrest of kidnappers and said at the time of kidnapping, he had identified them. They were Mohammad Ismail Arain, Mehboob Ali Arain, Mohammad Amin Kamboh, Mohammad Ramzan Arain, Rasheed Kamboh and others.
