KARACHI, May 8: The Children’s Museum for Peace and Human Rights along with partner organisations has obtained over 70,000 signatures on a petition to ask the government to join the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The convention was adopted by the UN on Dec 13, 2006 and was opened for signature by member states and thus far 127 countries have become signatories.

Schoolchildren, working with the Museum, plan to obtain 100,000 signatures on the petition before presenting it to the prime minister.
