Gardaizi new Islamabad IG
ISLAMABAD, May 7: A grade-20 officer from Multan has been appointed as Inspector General of Police Islamabad.
Syed Asghar Raza Gardaizi has been transferred from Intelligence Bureau, where he worked as a Deputy Director General since 2005.
A BPS-20 officer used to serve on the post of IGP in Islamabad, however, in 2005 the authorities decided to upgrade the post by appointing an officer serving in scale 21.
Interestingly, the last two IGPs appointed in Islamabad were also grade-20 officers, which was a violation of the rules, the sources said.— Staff Reporter
