Bopara declines IPL offer
CHELMSFORD (England), May 6: Essex’s Ravi Bopara has declined a lucrative offer to participate in the Indian Premier League in order to reclaim and cement a spot in the England squad.
Bopara, who is not centrally contracted and therefore free to join the IPL if Essex permit, said he was enticed by the money on offer but put his county first.
“Of course when figures like these are put in front of you it is tempting, but my goal is to play regularly for England.”—Agencies
