MQM team visits ex-CM’s grave

DADU, May 4: A six-member delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement arrived at the native village of former Sindh chief minister Syed Abdullah Shah in Wahur in taluka Sehwan on Sunday.

The delegation visited the graves of Syed Abdullah Shah and his brother Syed Ihsan Shah who was killed by terrorists during the past PPP government in Karachi. They laid floral wreaths at the graves and offered Fateha.

Talking to reporters, MQM leader Babar Ghori said that on the directives of MQM chief Mr Altaf Hussain, the delegation visited the village to offer condolence to Syed Murad Ali Shah. He said that through the efforts of Mr Asif Zardari and Mr Altaf Hussain, PPP and MQM had come closer.

He said that a handful of people were not happy with the PPP-MQM coalition. However, he said that MQM and PPP would work for the betterment of Sindh and Pakistan.

The MQM delegation included Hyderabad district nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Abdul Haseeb, Nisar Ahmed Panhwar, Abdul Majeed and Ashfaq Mangi.

They offered condolence to Sindh Revenue Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah who is the son of Syed Abdullah Shah.

PPP leaders and provincial ministers, including Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Zahid Hussain Bhurgari, Agha Taimore, Jam Mehtab Dahar welcomed the delegation.

Our bureau adds: MQM Provincial Minister Zubair Ahmed Khan, MNAs Salahuddin and Syed Tayyab Hussain, MPAs and other leaders here on Sunday laid floral wreaths on the graves of party activists at Pakka Qila and offered Fateha.

They also visited the shrine of Sakhi Abdul Wahab Shah Jilani and laid a chaddar on the grave.
