JACOBABAD: Protest against kidnapping
By Our Correspondent
JACOBABAD, May 4: A shutter-down strike was observed in Kandhkot for the second day on Sunday in protest against the kidnapping of three children.
The citizens’ alliance, political parties and Hindu community had given a two-day strike call to pressurise police to trace the recently kidnapped children Iram, Tahira ad Veeraj Kumar.
Shops and business centres remained closed and the city wore a deserted look. A large number of people observed a three-hour token hunger strike at the Library Chowk and vowed to continue protest till the recovery of the children.
Pakistan People’s Party-SB activists observed a ‘black day’ and took out a rally which was led by Taj Mohammad Domki. The PPP-SB has threatened to stage a long march from Kashmore to Kandhkot if the children are not recovered in 24 hours.
