ISLAMABAD, May 2: In a major shake-up in the federal bureaucracy, the government on Friday transferred six federal secretaries and promoted 21 bureaucrats to Grade-22.

Secretary Finance Division Waqar Masood Khan has been made Secretary Economic Affairs Division.

Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources Farrukh Qayyum has been appointed Secretary Finance and Secretary of the Textile Industry Division Zafar Mehmood has been posted in his place.

Secretary Housing and Works Abdul Rauf Chaudhry has been appointed as Secretary of the Textile Industry Division.

Secretary Local Government and Rural Development Mohammad Saleem Khan has been posted as Secretary Ports and Shipping.

Secretary Population Welfare Division Mohammad Sharif has been made Secretary States and Frontier Regions.

Additional Secretary Prime Minister Secretariat Ali Arif has been appointed Special Secretary to the Prime Minister while Additional Secretary Minorities Wing Ashraf M. Hayat has been promoted to the post of Secretary in the same ministry.

Managing Director of the PEPRA Tariq Shafeeq Khan has been appointed Secretary Statistics, Member Tariff Commission Akram Arif appointed chairman of the NDC and Additional Secretary Trade Mohammad Ashraf Khan has been appointed Secretary Sports.

Acting Secretary Women Development Mehmood Saleem Mehmood has been promoted to the post Secretary in the same ministry. Acting Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Ghazanfar Hussain has been promoted of the post of Secretary in the same ministry.

Additional Secretary Inter Provincial Coordination Division Nayyer Agha has been appointed Secretary Population, Acting Secretary Federal Ombudsmen M. Ihtesham Khan appointed Secretary of same department while Farid Khan has been called from the NWFP and made Secretary Human Rights Division, Secretary Population Sarwar Lashari will now be Secretary of the Inter Provincial Coordination Division.

The services of S. Anwar Haider have been handed over to Sindh Government. Mohammad Kashif Murtaza has been promoted to the post of Secretary Railways, Additional Secretary Sports Samiul Haq has been promoted to the post of Secretary Housing and Construction. OPF managing director Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari has been promoted to Grade-22.

Inspector General Police, NWFP, Malik Naveed Khan, Punjab IG Shaukat Javed and Balochistan IG Saud Gohar have also been promoted to Grade-22.
