Newspaper prices
KARACHI, May 2: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society has clarified its April 20 announcement about the cover price of newspapers.
A press release issued by the APNS on Friday said the announcement had created some confusion regarding the prices of English newspapers, which were mistakenly put at Rs15 for all English newspapers, despite their varied range of pages and prices.
It said that all newspapers, irrespective of their language and area, were covered in the minimum price formula – 4 pages, Rs 4; above 4 but less than 8 pages, Rs 5; 8 pages but less than 12 pages, Rs 7; and 12 pages and above, Rs 9 (Sunday edition Rs 12).
“However any publication, if it so desires, may fix its cover price higher than the above formula,” the press release said.
