TIMERGARA: JI, ANP blame each other for Malakand varsity clash


TIMERGARA, May 2: Leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and its student wing, Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT), have blamed the Awami National Party (ANP) for being behind the clash between two groups of the students of the Malakand University.

Talking to journalists here on Friday, the JI Lower Dir chapter leaders warned of grave repercussions of the issue was not handled amicably.

According to a JI spokesman, the leaders alleged that the district police officer and the district coordination officer, despite being informed of the matter in advance, failed to thwart the clash.

The workers of the IJT have also blamed the district police and the administration for playing into the hands of the local ANP leaders and the provincial government. — Correspondent
