HYDERABAD: Hit-and-run truck kills two

HYDERABAD, May 2: Two motorcyclists died and another seriously injured in a road accident at Khesana Mori in Tandojam on Friday.

Arsalan son of Iqbal Kaimkhani, Hussain son of Arif and Usama Kaimkhani were on their way to Khesana Mori on their motorcycle when they were hit by a truck from the rear.

Arsalan and Hussain died on the spot while Usama Kaimkhani was seriously injured and immediately rushed to Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad. Bodies of the deceased have were handed over to their relatives.

The truck driver, whose identity could not be ascertained, fled from the scene while Tandojam police have impounded the truck.

Polio: The EDO Health Hyderabad Dr Bux Ali Pitafi announced of initiating a three-day anti-polio campaign from May 6-8 in the district.

Speaking during a press conference at the press club on Friday he said 624 mobile teams along with 79 fixed and 32 transit points will administer to some 297,020 children anti-polio drops throughout the district. For the purpose six taluka supervisors, 21 zonal in-charges and 141 area in-charges had already been appointed to ensure the success of campaign, he said.

He said officers of the Health Department and representatives of the WHO and Uni cef will oversee arrangements.
