KARACHI: References adjourned

KARACHI, May 2: The Accountability Court-II on Friday issued notice to defence counsel in a reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau against a former chairman of the National Development Finance Corporation (NDFC) and others, and adjourned the proceedings till May 15.

Earlier, a representative of the National Bank submitted a report on settlement of matter with the accused.

The NAB reference accuses ex-NDFC chairman M.B. Abbasi, Sadaruddin Ghanchi and Hashim Sadaruddin Ghanchi of issuing a loan amounting to Rs40 million to M/s West Pakistan Talent Terminal (Pvt) Limited in violation of relevant rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, the Accountability Court-III adjourned the hearing of a reference against M/s Lakhani & Co. till May 5 as the special prosecutor was on leave.

The company is accused of evading duty and tax by making supplies of various items in the market on fake documents.—PPI
