SHIKARPUR: ‘Political meddling affects policing’

SHIKARPUR, May 1: Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Agha Siraj Durrani has held influential people and political interference in police department responsible for deteriorating law and order situation in the district.

He was talking to journalists during his visit to the Shikarpur Press Club on Wednesday.

Answering a question about demolition of villages in Karachi, he said that the government was collecting the record to settle this matter.

About the changing of borders of some districts by the previous government, the minister said that the present government was trying to bring the bifurcated districts to their old position.

The minister also held public meetings in Madeji town and villages of Garhi Yasin taluka to offer thanks to his voters and listened to their problems.

He met Pakistan People’s Party workers at Mirani House and held an open katchery at Jumani Hall.

People also raised complains against the Shikarpur taluka nazim, saying that he had failed to provide basic amenities to public and had misused his powers and funds on pretext of development in the city.

The minister assured to settle all the issues and to conduct an enquiry into the matters of misappropriation of funds and other irregularities.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by armed attackers in the Garhi Yasin area on Thursday.
