KARACHI: KWSB control

Published May 1, 2008

KARACHI, April 30: Nazims of 16 of the city’s 18 towns have opposed the Sindh government’s move of depriving the city nazim of his authority over the KWSB.

At a meeting with acting City Nazim Nasreen Jalil here on Wednesday, they said that the development process was suffering badly following the provincial government’s move, and maintained that town and union council nazims were not able to execute development work.

Ms Jalil and the town nazims appealed to the provincial government to reverse the decision and avoid taking such steps to ensure an improved environment of understanding.—APP
