KARACHI, April 26: Berthing activity was brisk as six ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

Meanwhile, five more ships also arrived at the outer anchorage to load and unload various commodities.

Nine ships, Lobivia, Maersk Novazzano, Leopard-B, Nova Noor, Rio Gracia, Giovanna Liuliano, Chemroad Fuji, Al-Salam-II and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, LPG, wheat, palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 125,000 tons comprising 98,000 tons of import and 27,000 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sibi and Lobivia sailed out while Al-Salam-II and Maersk Novazzano were expected to depart on Saturday.
