KARACHI, April 21: Four ships carrying containers, coal, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, four more vessels with containers, cement, iron ore and palm oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy fell below 50 per cent as only four ships, Mandy, Sibi, Arius and Sabarimala, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, coal, diesel oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 63,321 tons comprising 48,924 tons of import and 14,397 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Southern Bull, Norfolk Express, Lucia and Mandy sailed out while Arius was expected to depart.
