Loadshedding renders 150 jobless

SUKKUR, April 12: Routine but unscheduled load-shedding stretching many hours has forced closure of two factories in SITE Sukkur rendering some more than 150 labourers jobless. The routine also brings activities to standstill along with acute drinking water shortage.

Owners of the two factories said eight to twelve hours of power outage has left them with no choice but to pull their shutters down. They said if situation persisted for long then other factories may follow the suit.

A delegation of Sukkur Small Traders met Manager Hesco Sukkur Circle on Thursday and apprised him of the hardships businessmen face due to unannounced load-shedding upon which the Manager assured to minimize duration which instead has increased.
