Gayle fined for misconduct

PORT-OF-SPAIN, April 7: West Indies captain Chris Gayle was fined 70 percent of his match fee for a code of conduct breach during the second and final Test against Sri Lanka, the ICC said on Monday.

Gayle was found to have violated the code relating to unfair play as his side had bowled their overs too slowly, an ICC statement said.

The other West Indian players were fined 35 per cent of their match fees after the team was found to have been six overs short of the required over-rate.
