MIRPURKHAS, April 7: The Pakistan Railways, even after the passage of four months, has failed to restore the service of Mehran Express while people were forced to pay excess fare on coaches to travel from Mirpurkhas to Karachi via Hyderabad.

Violence which spewed after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto inflicted loss among other things to railways property also, resulting in the suspension of Mehran Express service which to date had not resumed like the rest of trains.

Presently, only Shah Abdul Latif Mail was running between Mirpurkhas and Karachi covering the distance of four-and-a-half-hour in eight hours. President Mirpurkhas Chamber of Commerce and industry Abdul Khaliq Khan said the railways authorities instead of improving service between Mirpurkhas and Karachi had suspended Mehran Express.
