Import duty on phosphate abolished

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 5: The government has exempted phosphate rock ground used in manufacturing of fertiliser from five per cent import duty.

The decision was taken by amending SRO367 of 2006 through SRO333 of 2008.

The measure will mitigate difficulties being faced by the fertiliser manufacturers and help reduce the cost of production.

It will also stabilise prices of fertiliser.
