HERAT: A suicide attacker blew up a car bomb inside a district police compound in southwestern Afghanistan on Tuesday, killing two policemen and wounding five, police said.

The attack, similar to scores carried out by the Taliban movement, struck the Khash Rod district police headquarters in the province of Nimroz, which borders Iran. “Two policemen were martyred and five others were injured,” Nimroz deputy police chief Assadullah Sherzad said.
