KARACHI, March 30: The Sin-dh Bar Council has announced that lawyers will boycott courts on Monday to protest against shifting of household articles from the official residence of deposed Justice Khalilur Rahman Ramday.

This was decided in a council meeting chaired by newly-elected SBC vice-chairman Muzaffar Ahmed Leghari on Sunday.

Through a resolution, the council demanded that the Army House be vacated by President Musharraf. The office-bearers of the council thanked the prime minister for directing officials not to get Justice Ramday’s house evacuated.

Earlier, the meeting elected Muzaffar Ahmed Leghari as vice-chairman of the council. Amin Lakhani, Aqil Lodhi, Mahmoodul Hasan, Muhammad Ali Abbasi, Abdul Haleem Siddiqi, Ayaz Soomro, Asif Soomro, Ibrarul Hasan, Salahuddin Gandapur, Sher Muhammad Wasan, Allah Bachaio Soomro and Abdus Sattar Qazi spoke.—PPI
